Team Rector - New Team Rector Announced

The announcement of the next Team Rector for the Ingleborough Team was made on Sunday 16th July. The official announcement is copied below as well as some words from Revd Peter.
“The Bishop of Leeds is pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Canon Peter Greenwood, currently serving as Rector of Gillingham & Milton on Stour & Vicar of Silton in the Diocese of Salisbury, as Team Rector of the Ingleborough Team Ministry in the Ripon Episcopal Area. The Licensing Service will be conducted b the Rt Revd Nicholas Baines on 26th October at 7pm.”
“My name is Peter Greenwood, at the moment I am the Rector of Gillingham, Milton on Stour and Silton in Salisbury Diocese. I was delighted to accept the invitation from the Bishop of Leeds to be Team Rector in the Ingleborough benefice. I am very much looking forward to living and working in Bentham and beyond.
A little bit about me - as you’ve guessed from my family name, I’m from Yorkshire. I grew up in Wakefield. I’ve worked for the Church of England in Belper and Silsden as well as North Dorset, where I live and work at the moment. In between Belper and Silsden I was a mission partner with the Church Mission Society for five years and vicar of Islamabad in the Church of Pakistan.
I love walking, cycling and generally being outside, and I am looking forward to getting to know your patch of the world. I love my job too, and so whilst I will miss the churches and communities of North Dorset, at the same time I am looking forward to worshipping God with you, getting to know you, following the risen Jesus, and sharing faith and fun, good times and harder times together. I’m looking forward to meeting you. God bless. Love Peter”

Team Vicar - Ingleton and Chapel-le-Dale

Our team vicar for Ingleton and Chapel-le-Dale is The Rev'd Nick Trenholme.

Nick was born in Cambridge but grew up mostly near Bradford (so he counts himself as a Yorkshireman!). He went to university in Durham before working as in youth ministry in Northampton. He trained for the ministry in London, and was curate in Northamptonshire before moving to Ingleton in 2016. He is married with two children.

Team Vicar - Burton in Lonsdale and Thornton in Lonsdale

Our team vicar for Burton in Lonsdale and Thornton in Lonsdale is The Rev'd Harriet Johnson. Harriet was officially licensed on the 1st of October 2024. Below is her introductory bio in her own words.

"It was a surprise and a delight to discover that God was calling me to a new stage in my journey as a member of the Ingleborough Ministry Team and I am very much looking forward to getting to know the people and churches of Burton in Lonsdale and Thornton in Lonsdale as we discern together what God has in store for us.

Although I currently live in London I was born and grew up in Yorkshire (near Wakefield) and have family roots there and in the Lune valley.  As a child I attended a Methodist chapel, but on moving to London for a career in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office I was drawn to the Anglican church, initially through the beauty of cathedral choral evensong and then through the welcome of my local parish church. Being called to ordained ministry in this church in 2017 was another of God’s surprises, but has proved an enriching experience: firstly in discovering the joy of studying theology (yes, really!), then learning the ropes of parish ministry in a semi-rural curacy in Rochester Diocese, and most recently in the role of chaplain at my theological college, where I have had the privilege of seeing at first hand the variety of ways God calls and equips people for both lay and ordained ministry.

My husband Simon is a civil servant and adult instructor with the Army Cadet Force where he is a qualified mountain leader and Duke of Edinburgh Assessor. Because of these commitments he will initially be dividing his time between London and Yorkshire.
When we do both have time off we very much enjoy walking together and have completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks twice, so we are looking forward to getting to know some of the other walks in the area (and maybe even making a third attempt at the big one!)."
